The bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed have been included in the Bangladesh Squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to be played in India and Sri Lanka.
Rahman, who has been released from the KKR squad due to political tension between countries, is set to travel to India for the global event.
Litton Das will lead Bangladesh at the marquee event, which will be held in February-March.
Bangladesh boasted their bowling attack – with Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed leading the pace attack while, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed and Rishad Hossain could lead the spin friendly surfaces in the sub-continent, making Bangladesh a side not to be taken lightly, despite them having never qualified for the T20 World Cup.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the national squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 7 February to 8 March.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh squad will depend on captain Litton Das, while the likes of Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon will be expected to provide the Asian team a quick start at the top of order.
Placed in group C along with England, West Indies, Nepal and Italy, Bangladesh will be having a competitive league stage games aiming to enter first semi finals.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play their opener match against West Indies on February 07 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
After facing West Indies, Bangladesh will face Italy on February 09 before facing England in Kolkata. After England, Bangladesh are scheduled to travel to Mumbai to play at Nepal at Wankhede Stadium.
The World Cup is set to begin on February 07 with Pakistan and Netherlands meeting each other at Colombo.
