Skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli decided to give game time for middle-order batters as India beat West Indies with five wickets as Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav made their contribution with their bowling skills.

Ravindra Jadeja takes 3 wickets in six overs giving 37 runs and Kuldeep took 4 wickets in four overs giving 6 runs setting up West Indies for 114 in 23 overs.

It was the decision by Indian coach Rahul Dravid and Skipper Rohit Sharma to give time for middle-order batsmen to perfect the combination of batters and fix the flaws before the World Cup as they have only 12 ODI matches in their hands.

Mukesh had become famous after two stellar Ranji seasons in 2019-20 and 2022-23 for Bengal. He was selected in the Indian team for the Test series in Bangladesh in 2022 and later on, was picked for Delhi Capitals for 5.5 crore INR in Indian Premier League auctions in 2023.

Mukesh took 32 wickets in 10 First Class games in the 2019-20 Ranji season and was able to scalp 22 batters in just five matches in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy.

Apart from Mukesh Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Umran Malik are the other three pacers while Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja are the two spinners in India’s playing 11. Ishan Kishan was preferred for the wicket-keeper batter in the Indian lineup.
