After playing a match-winning knock in 26 runs off 11 deliveries against LSG in IPL 2025, MS Dhoni was spotted limping when he walked to collect the Player of the Match Award.
With Chennai Super Kings fans’ dream of a comeback from the five-time champions have registered their second win of the 2025 season against Lucknow Super Giants.
MS Dhoni has been struggling with knee over the past few years and has not been at his physical best on April 14, despite putting in a match-winning performance that helped the side to end five match losing streak.
Dhoni showed signs of discomfort even while keeping wickets. After pulling off a dream run-out of Abdul Samad, he was visibly struggling to maintain his balance.
Nevertheless, he walked out to bat when Super Kings required more than 10 runs per over in the final five overs of the chase.
He went on to smash 26 runs off 11 deliveries while batting alongside Shivam Dube.
MS Dhoni heavily relied on bigh shots, avoiding singles and steering clear of pushing for extra runs between the wickets.

He was later seen limping as he descended the stairs of the dressing room for post-match duties. In fact, Dhoni appeared unable to walk freely as he made his way to collect the Player of the Match award, his first such honour in the IPL in seven years.
In a more concerning video that has since gone viral on social media, Dhoni was spotted limping again while entering the team hotel in Lucknow. However, he was not wearing a knee brace or cap when stepping off the team bus.
However, CSK will he hoping Dhoni’s apparent discomfort isn’t linked to a serious issue, as the five time IPL champions are already languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table.
MS Dhoni resumed captaincy duties after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season with an elbow fracture. His return to the helm didn’t begin as hoped, with CSK suffering an eight wicket loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in his first game back in charge.
However, the veteran gave a comeback leading the CSK in defeated LSG to end their five game skid. Chennai will play their next game against Mumbai Indians on April 20 at Wankhede Stadium.
