The Former Delhi Cricketer Mithun Manhas is set to become the next BCCI president which has been vacant since Roger Binny stepped down from the position in August.
Since then, BCCI vice president Rajiv Shukla had served in the position in an interim capacity since. Meanwhile, the former Karnataka and India spinner Raghuram Bhat set to take over as treasurer. Bhat is currently the president on the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
“I will do my best for Indian cricket and the BCCI in whatever way I can,” said Raghuram Bhat in a statement.
Besides Mithun Manhas and Bhatt, Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Bhatia also filed for the secretary and joint secretary posts.
Joint secretary Rohan Dessai was expected to continue too, but after his faction lost the election in the Goa Cricket Association, he missed out on retaining his position.

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal’s position was initially uncertain amid confusion over whether he fell under the cooling-off ambit.
The BCCI later sought legal advice, which cleared him to continue. At the time of filing this report, he had not yet arrived to file his nomination.
Mithun Manhas has featured in 157 first class games between 1998 and 2016. Despite, Sourav Ganguly and Harbhajan Sing remained in the fray until last minute, Manhas got the suprise node fromthe powers that be in Delhi.
It was a high-powered meeting at a Union Minister’s residence on Saturday night, with many aspirants asked to come to Delhi and wait for the call. Devajit Saikia, Singh, Shukla and Arun Dhumal were present in the meeting.
Apart from them, BCCI seniors such as Niranjan Shah, former BCCI secretary from Saurashtra, and Kasi Viswanathan from Tamil Nadu has been present in the Union Ministers’ residence.
Brijesh Patel, a former chairman of the IPL Governing Council has been also present in the meeting. It is interesting to know that Ganguly was also in Delhi on Saturday, but there was no information that he attended the meeting.
