Matt Short’s stellar knock in the MLC 2025 game against MI New York helped the San Francisco Unicorns secure their fifth straight win in Dallas.
He went on to smash a 91-run knock against New York, helping the side to post a mammoth total against MI New York. Unicorns went on to post 246 runs in their innings, where MINY failed to chase the target.
By this victory, Matt Short-led side extends their dominance in the MLC 2025 points table. Batting first, Short and Tim Seifert went on to make a solid start, scoring 86 runs for the first wicket with the duo went on to score 63 runs in the powerplay.
However, Kenjige brought in the first breakthrough dismissing Seifert for 26 runs. Meanwhile, Jake Fraser-McGurk went on to join the opener to haunt MINY bowlers. However, Short went on aggressive mode scoring 91 runs off 43 deliveries.
He lost his wicket to Pollard in the 14th over missing his century. McGurk went on to score 64 runs off 26 deliveries before being dismissed by Pollard.

With Romario Shepherd’s dismissal for 2 runs, Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Hassan Khan’s cameo has helped the side to post a formidable total.
In the pursuit of chasing 247 run target, Quinton de Kock and Monank Patel opened the innings while Hassan Khan opened the bowling attack.
The duo made an impressive start posting 119 runs for the first wicket. Monanak Patel went on to score 60 runs before being dismissed by Plunkett.
With Pooran went on to get dismissed for 15 runs, de Kock went on aggressive mode posting 70 runs which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. However, his dismissal powered MI New York’s batting order collapse as they lost six wickets and failed to chase the target.
Despite Pollard’s 34 runs, MI New York went on to score 199 runs in their 20 over innings. Matt Short was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match presentation, Short said, “Always nice to get these awards but happier with the win.”
