The ECB has announced the England Playing 11 for the fourth test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, where Liam Dawson will be replacing injured Shoaib Bashir.
The latter was ruled out of the remainder of the five-match series due to a finger fracture which he sustained during the Lord’s Test.
“England men’s spinner Shoaib Bashir has sustained a fracture to his left finger and has been ruled out of the remainder of the Rothesay Test series against India. He is scheduled to undergo surgery later this week. England will name their squad for the fourth Test at Emirates Old Trafford in the next couple of days,” said ECB before couple of days.
Shoaib Bashir fractured his finger in is left hand while trying to field a ball from Jadeja on his own bowling and stayed on the field and made a crucial contirbution, taking the final wicket of Siraj to seal England’s 22-run victory.

He underwent surgery and won’t be fit to play for the next few weeks. Meanwhile Liam Dawson who played last test cricket in 2017 will be returning to longer format after 8 long years.
He has been consistent performer for Hampshire and was named PCA Player of the Year in 2023 and 24. However, Gus Atkinson has missed out in the lineup despite reports suggesting he has recovered from his hamstring injury.
The England Cricket Board has also released pacers Sam Cook and Jamie Overton who have returned to play in County Championship.
England lead the series 2-1 and will be looking for a win at Manchester to seal the series. On the other hand, India will be looking to bounce to draw a level in the series.
The fourth test will be played between, July 23 and 27 at Old Trafford Cricket Stadium, Manchester.
