Virat Kohli becomes the 12th player to reach the feat of Indian players to feature in 100 or more test matches for the national cricket team. Virat made his Test debut in 2011 and since then he has gone on to score 8,007 runs at an average over 50.

Virat Kohli’s 100th Test Match Incidents

Kohli, who became the 12th Indian cricketer to reach the landmark figure of 100 Test matches, shared a brief video on Twitter on Sunday, hours after India thrashed Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

Virat Kohli receives Guard of Honour from Teammates

Virat Kohli received a ‘Guard of Honour’ from his Indian teammates on Day 2 of India vs Sri Lanka’s first Test at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Saturday. The wonderful gesture by the Rohit Sharma-led side was to celebrate Kohli’s 100th Test.

Just before the start of the third session, Indian players lined up and clapped as Kohli stepped onto the field. He waved with his right hand and briskly made his way into the middle with a big smile on his face.

Kohli is only the 12th Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ishant Sharma, Virender Sehwag, and Harbhajan Singh to get the honour of representing the side for 100 or more times.

Kohli Recreates Allu Arjun’s Move

Kohli has become the sixth Indian batter to score 8,000 Test runs as India head to Bengaluru for the second Test with a 1-0 lead in the series. Although India batted in only one innings in the Mohali Test, Kohli kept the crown entertained with his antics on the field.

One of the most popular trends among the cricketers currently is from Allu Arjun’s blockbuster movie Pushpa.

Kohli had managed to score 45 in the first innings before he was clean bowled by the left-arm spinner Lasith Embuldeniya. The 33-year-old did not get a chance to bat again in his special match as the home team thrashed the visitors by an innings and 222 runs.

Virat Gifted Jersey to His Fan

Batting superstar and former captain Virat Kohli made a fan’s day after India completed a dominating performance in the series-opening first Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali. After the end of the Test on Sunday, Kohli, before boarding the team bus for the hotel, gave a fan his jersey.

Virat Kohli Thanked Family, Teammates

Virat Kohli on Sunday shared a heart-warming video following the conclusion of his 100th Test match in which India defeated Sri Lanka by an innings and 222 runs in Mohali. The former India skipper thanked his family, teammates, coaches, and the BCCI for their support throughout his cricketing journey.

“Been a long journey to get here. Full of ups and downs and learnings. Would not have had it any other way. Thank you for all your support,” Kohli captioned the video.

“Thank You. To all my family, teammates, coaches and BCCI. You have made this journey beautiful. Onwards and Upwards,” read a message in the video.

Team India celebrated his 100th Test with a massive win. Ravindra Jadeja starred with bat and ball as India took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series.

After being bundled out for 174 in the first innings, Sri Lanka were made to follow on and were all out for 178 in 60 overs to complete a meek surrender by the visitors in just three days.

Jadeja, after making 175 not out with the bat that helped India declare their innings at 574/8, took 5/41 in the first innings and 4/46 in the second innings.

It is after 60 years that an Indian has scored 150 runs and taken five wickets in an innings. Vinoo Mankad, in 1952 against England at Lord’s, and Polly Umrigarh in 1962 versus West Indies at Delhi, are the other owners of this rare feat.

He and Ravichandran Ashwin, who took 2/49 and 4/47 apart from making 61 with the bat, made merry on a day where 16 Sri Lanka wickets fell.
