Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli who struggled to find his form back makes his way back by hitting some good knocks which include a T20I century in Asia Cup 2022 followed by a half-century in the 3rd T20I against Australia.
Virat Kohli Reveals Batting Strategy
Virat Kohli along with Suryakumar Yadav build a much-needed partnership during India’s run chase. Batting first Australia scored 186 runs for 7 wickets loss at the end of the 1st innings.
Indian opening batter KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma failed to score big and walked to the pavilion for 1 and 17 runs respectively. Virat Kohli who batted at 3 builds a much-needed partnership with Suryakumar Yadav and scored 104 runs for the third wicket.
After the match, Kohli revealed his batting strategy during the chase.
“When Surya started hitting it like that, I kind of looked at the dugout as well and Rohit (Sharma) and Rahul (Dravid) both told me, ‘you can just keep batting on’ because Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) was striking it that well.
It was just about building a partnership. I just used my experience a little bit, stayed back and as soon as he went away I tried to take on the first couple of balls and got a six off Pat Cummins and that set me up again,” said Kohli at the post-match presentation.

While India were in need of 11 runs off the final over Virat Kohli loses his wicket after hitting a six off the first delivery. With 4 required off the final two balls, Hardik smashed a boundary off the fifth delivery and leads India to seal the series against ICC T20 World Cup 2021 winning team.
With the series win, Rohit Sharma surpassed Virat Kohli’s record of most T20I wins as captain for the Indian cricket team.
