The wicket-keeper Josh Inglis and batting all-rounder Cameron Green’s knock powered Australia’s 8-wicket victory against the West Indies on Wednesday’s clash.
By this win, they secured a 2-0 unassailable lead in the T20I series in Australia tour of West Indies 2025, which is also the last series for West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell.
Batting first, West Indies scored 172 runs in their 20 over innings. Brandon King and Shai Hope opened the innings while M Kuhnemann opened the bowling attack.
The opener duo made a solid start scoring 49 runs in the powerplay and scored 63 runs for the first wicket.
Zampa picked the first wicket dismissing Brandon King for 51 runs. After his dismissal, the top order and middle order failed to pick the phase as they lost their wickets cheaply at regular interval.
Maxwell dismissed Shai Hope and Hetmyer for 9 and 14 respectively. On the other hand, Zampa picked the wickets of Chase and Rutherford in the same over further troubling the side.
However, Russell made a stance scoring 36 runs in 15 deliveries which included 2 fours and 4 sixes. With Motie’s 18 runs, West Indies went on to score 172 runs in 20 overs.

Adam Zampa picked three wickets while Nathan Ellis and Maxwell bagged two wickets each. In the pursuit of chasing 173 runs, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh opened the innings while Akeal Hosein opened the bowling attack.
Despite Maxwell and Marsh dismissed for 12 and 21 runs by Holder and Alzarru Joseph within the powerplay. With Josh Inglis and Green at crease, Australia scored 45 runs in the powerplay.
Inglis and Green both went on to slam fifties each, and went on to forge 131 run partnership completing the chase in the 16th over.
Josh Inglis was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match presentation, he said, “I think it is the nature of my boys. Guys like Green and Mitch can smash it, but for guys like me, you need to find areas to score.”
“Playing a lot of experience, batting at different positions and hopefully I can make number 3 my own,” he added.
“It is a really fun young group, we have been around for 18 months and had fun when the big boys have been busy with Test cricket. We managed the middle period really well and handled the spin,” concluded Josh Inglis.
