The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025 with Harshit Rana has been named as a replacement.
Bumrah has not fully recovered from the back injury he picked during the final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
While his latest scans did not reveal anything abnormal, it is learnt that he is not entirely ready to return for bowling. His progress will continue to be monitored by BCCI’s medical team.
With there is no timeline on his return, he will likely resume his bowling in a couple of weeks.
This will be the second ICC tournament Jasprit Bumrah will be missing due to injury, after missing the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia due to back injury which made him to have a surgery.
