The Wk-Batter Ishan Kishan has been in perfect form during the IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers where Mumbai Indians registered their second victory in the IPL 2024.

He smashed 69 runs on 34 deliveries in Mumbai’s pursuit of chasing 197 runs on Thursday’s clash. While speaking in the post-match conference, he spoke about the controversies in his future in the Indian team which remains a question after his BCCI central contract was suspended.

He withdrew from the South Africa series due to mental tiredness and did not make himself available for international selection in the upcoming months.

He decided to prepare for the IPL 2024 season with MI captain Hardik Pandya despite head coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI secretary Jay Shah’s insistence to play in the Ranji Trophy.

While speaking about the BCCI contract snub, “I was practicing. When I took time off from the game, people were talking a lot. Many things came on social media. But you should also realize that many things are not in the hands of the players,” said Ishan Kishan.

“The only thing you can do is utilize the time properly. Also, the mindset to think about the previous Ishan Kishan, I would never leave a delivery in the first two overs even if they are bowling well.”

“With time I have learned that even 20 overs is a big game, you can take your time and you can go ahead. Even though we have lost matches, we want to work together as a team.”

“Changes have come like even if I am not performing and if I know someone else is not performing, I talk to them. I want to know what they are thinking. So these are things which helped me in the break,” he further added.

Coming to the IPL 2024 tournament, Mumbai Indians have secured two victories in five matches they played and secured 7th position in the IPL 2024 points table.

Mumbai Indians will be playing their next match against Chennai Super Kings on April 14 at Wankhede Stadium.
