With India already securing a berth in the finals of the tournament, they will be aiming to explore some possibilities ahead of the summit clash. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka has been eliminated from the tournament after suffering defeat in the games against Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Out of 31 meetings in the T20 clash, India has won on 21 occasions while Sri Lanka has won on 9 occasions.

Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bow first. Speaking at the toss, Charith Asalanka said, “We are going to bowl first. We know that we can’t qualify for the final but it is still an important game for us. It is a good pitch and we want to restrict them to 170-175. They have been doing really well especially our openers. We have one change – Liyange comes in for Chamika.”
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav said, “Just continue doing what we have been doing. We were actually looking to bat first. Good atmosphere, good game and we are looking forward to it. It is part of the game (dropped catches). We have two changes – Bumrah and Dube are out, Arshdeep and Harshit come in.”
