The IND-PAK clash in the Asia Cup 2025 is likely to be played on September 07, and UAE has emerged as the frontrunner to host the entire event.
Although India is the official host for the tournament this edition, due to the political tension with Pakistan, it has made it unlikely for the tournament to be played on Indian soil.
The Asian Cricket Council has almost finalised the schedule for the Asia Cup 2025 with a 17-day window to organise the tournament.
According to the reports, promotional work for the tournament has already begun, even though the ACC is yet to confirm the venue.
It added that the finals of the Asia Cup is likely to be held on September as per the initial schedule that has been drafted.
The reports further suggest that there is also discussion around using a hybrid model, which has been used previously in the 2023 edition of the Asia Cup.
While the tournament was hosted by Pakistan, India refused to cross the border due to which India played all their games in Sri Lanka.

Outh ouf 13 matches, only four games played in Pakistan while 9 games has been played in Sri Lanka (Pallekele and Colombo).
Meanwhile, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hosted by Pakistan had been played in a hybrid format with India’s matches being played in the UAE, which was the first ICC event conducted in such a manner.
However, this time around, hybrid model won’t be employed and the entire tournament will be played at a neutral venue, most likely UAE.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and UAE will be the participating teams, and the tournament is set to follow the group stage and Super Fours format.
It means that fans could witness IND-PAK clash atleast twice in the Asia Cup. The second contest is likely to take place on September 14.
Meanwhile, Asian Cricket Council has revealed the hosts for the Asia Cup till 2031.
Bangladesh will be hosting 2027 edition in ODI format while Pakistan will be hosting 2029 edition of the tournament in T20I. The 2031 edition will be hosted by Sri Lanka in the ODI format.
