The left-handed batter Shimron Hetmyer’s impressive knock has helped the Seattle Orcas to secure a win against San Francisco Unicorns in the MLC 2025 on July 02 at Lauderhill.
He went on to make a 78* runs off 37 deliveries to help the side to post four-wicket victory on Wednesday’s clash.
After five straight losses, the side has secured three straight wins and moved to the fourth position of the MLC 2025 points table.
Batting first, the opening duo Matt Short and Finn Allen failed to shine as Harmeet Singh dismissed Short for two runs.
With the dismissal of Finn Allen for 23 runs, San Francisco Unicorns went on to score 51 runs in the powerplay.
However Jake Fraser-McGurk and Sanjay Krishnamurthi went on to score 35 and 41 runs respectively before being dismissed by Raza and Salamkheil.

With Seifert’s 31 runs and Romario Shepherd’s cameo has helped the side to post a decent total of 168 runs. Ayan Desai picked two wickets for Seattle Orcas.
In the pursuit of chasing the target, Taylor sent out for a duck despite the other opener Jahangir went on to score 36 runs.
With Kyle Mayers dismissal for 3 runs by Xavier Bartlett and Raza’s run out, Settle Orcas struggled a bit to score runs.
They lost four wickets to score 56 runs. However, Shimron Hetmyer went on make an aggressive knock helping the side to chase the target.
His remained unbeaten to complete the innings with three ball to spare. Aaron Jones contributed 14 runs while Gerald Coetzee (7*) stood along with Hetmyer to secure the win.
Shimron Hetymer was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking at the post match conference, he said, “Prayers help. That helps us a little bit. You have to play differently in different situations. I am playing my strong shots and that’s working.”
“Now I am trying to access the off-side more than I used to. I am trying to hold my shape, just need to keep working on it. I am doing a decent enough job. I try to keep the run rate below the 12-run mark.”
“I won the battle against Shephed I guess, he’s a good friend. He bowls to me in the nets,” he concluded.
Seattle Orcas will play their next game against Washington Freedom on July 05 at Florida.
