    Sanjay Manjrekar Praised Hardik: Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar praised Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya and feels quite surprised with Hardik’s transformation from just being a hard-hitter to emerging as one of the best all-rounders in the world who is also capable of leading teams.

    Ahead of IPL 2022, Hardik Pandya has been named as the captain of one of the 2 new IPL teamsGujarat Titans, and successfully led the team to win their maiden IPL trophy by beating Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 final.

    Following his impressive performance, Hardik Pandya has been named as the captain for the Indian white ball series against Ireland where he successfully won the series and traveled to England to get part in India’s limited over series against England.

    Hardik played a crucial role in India’s victory over England in the limited over series. Following his injury, Hardik struggled a lot to find his form which even forced Mumbai Indians s to look beyond him.

    The new franchise Gujarat Titans took a bold move by naming Hardik as their captain, but the all-rounder who simply seen in a new avatar on and off the field where he guided his team to win the trophy on their first appearance.

    “Absolutely, Hardik Pandya is a completely changed guy. It was a wildcard that the franchise played. First of all, picking him as one of their first players, before that his fitness was a problem, his batting was an issue for the earlier franchise (Mumbai Indians),” Manjrekar said on Sports18’s daily sports.

    “Not only did they pick him, and back him as one of their marquee players they gave him the captaincy. Just the way the (IPL) league turned out for him. Hardik Pandya is a changed man now, there’s a lot of maturity, responsibility, and ambition as well.”

    Manjrekar also felt a person with ambition always has a good chance of excelling and he can see that trait in Pandya.

    “I see a sense of ambition coming into him. And once you have that, wanting to grow within Indian Cricket then there’s tremendous motivation. He’s also addressing himself in the third person now. Hardik Pandya has arrived.”

    Hardik Pandya will be back in action for the 5 matches T20I series against West Indies which is scheduled to kickstart from July 29.
