The Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur slams her 8th WPL fifty during the 2025 season finals played against Delhi Capitals on March 15 at Brabourne Stadium.
Her fifty comes off in 33 deliveries which included 7 fours and 1 six after the side crumbled with early dismissals of openers in summit clash.
Having an impressive record in the ongoing season, Harmanpreet has led the side to finals for the second time. In 26 matches she has 785 runs with an average of 39.25 and a strike rate of 142.98.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians batted first and lost the wickets of openers Yastika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews for 8 and 3 to Marizanne Kapp which reduced their power play score.
Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet joined hands to make an 89-run partnership for the third wicket. Meanwhile, Nat Sciver-Brunt became the first batter to score 1000 WPL runs.

Both teams have proved to display outstanding performance in the ongoing season and will be clashing once again in the summit clash. Both sides have played the finals in the first season of the league where Mumbai Indians emerged as victorious to claim the title.
Delhi Capitals has an advantage with 4 wins while Mumbai have two wins against the team.
Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Speaking at the toss, DC Women Captain Meg Lanning said, “Going to have a bowl tonight. Conditions are going to remain the same, and it’s worked for us throughout the tournament.
“We’ve had some time off to refresh and we’re excited about tonight. It’s an opportunity for us. Need to play well and hopefully it’s our best performance. One change for us,” concluded Lanning.
Meanwhile MI Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur said, “Even we were looking to bowl. But I think anything is good for us. If we look at the stats of the last four games, team batting first has won.”
“Staying balanced and staying in the moment has worked for us. They’ve played really good cricket in this tournament,” added kaur.
