Glenn Phillips’s knock in the last minute has helped Washington Freedom to secure five wicket victory in the MLC 2025 game against Los Angeles Knight Riders on June 27 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
Glenn Phillips’ 33 run knock off 23 deliveries has helped the side to secure their fifth win in the ongoing season. With this win Freedom has five out of six wins and secured second position in the MLC 2025 points table.
Batting first, LAKR posted a formidable total of 213 runs after Andre Fletcher’s Heroics. Chand and Andre Fletcher opened the innings while Netravalkar opened the bowling attack.
The opening duo went on to make a solid partnership scoring 130 runs for the first wicket as Chand was being dismissed by Holland for 41 runs.
Holland went on to bag his second dismissal for 20 runs, while Edwards dismissed Rovman Powell for golden duck.
However, Andre Fletcher scored 104 runs before being retired out helping the side to cross 200 run mark. With Holder’s 11* runs, Los Angeles went on to score 213 runs in their 20 over innings.
In the pursuit of chasing the target, Mitchell Owen and Rachin Ravindra opened the innings while Jason Holder opened the bowling attack.

After a solid start from Owen, he got dismissed by Schalkwyk for 43 runs while Rachin Ravindra lost his wicket to Ali Khan for 18 runs.
Andries Gous and Maxwell tried forging a partnership scoring 31 and 42 runs respectively before Holder and Sangha sent them back to dugout.
With Glenn Phillips (33*) and Obus Pienaar’s (23*) last minute thriller has helped the side to secure win in the game.
Mitchell Owen was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking in the post-match presentation, Owen said, ” It was a lot of fun, loving it. Off the field too and it’s a great country, enjoying everything that comes with it.”
“We always had the belief, especially on this wicket, with the wind going that side. We knew it would be tough, but glad to get over the line. (on his front foot pulls) It probably gets me in more trouble, glad that it came off tonight. We are playing with a lot of confidence and freedom.”
Washington Freedom will play their next game against San Francisco Unicorns on June 28 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.
