    GG Women Slams 38 Runs in Powerplay During Runchase at Lucknow

    The Gujarat Giants (GG Women) slammed 38 runs for a wicket in the powerplay during the 177-run chase in the WPL 2025 against Delhi Capitals on March 07 at Ekana Cricket Stadium.

    In the run chase, Beth Mooney and Dayalan Hemalatha opened their innings while Marizanne Kapp opened the bowling attack.

    They lost the wicket of Hemalatha for 1 run in Shikha Pandey’s delivery in the second over of the innings. After Hemalatha’s dismissal, Harleen Deol joined Beth Mooney in the run chase.

    Batting first, Delhi Capitals openers Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning have provided a solid start for Delhi Capitals scoring 51 runs in the powerplay.

    Meg Lanning scored 33 runs while Shafali Verma contributed 17 runs in the powerplay. However, Meghna picked the wicket of Shafali for 40 runs in the 9th over.

    Meg Lanning slammed her 9th WPL fifty off 35 deliveries with a magnificent six in Kanwar’s delivery.

    Meg Lanning has scored 847 runs in 25 matches at an average of 28.50 and a strike rate of 124.01 with a high score of 72.

    Meanwhile, Deandra Dottin dismissed Jess Jonassen for 9 runs off 10 deliveries in the first ball of the 13th over.

    Jemimah Rodrigues and Annabel Sutherland who came in the lineup gets dismissed by Meghna Singh for 4 and 14 runs.

    However Meg Lanning went on to score 92 runs off 57 deliveries before being Deandra Dottin in the fifth ball of the last over. Meghna Singh picked three wickets while Deandra Dottin picked 2 wickets for GG Women.
