Ashleigh Gardner’s impressive knock during the run chase against Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the WPL 2025 clash helped the side to drive the Giants towards victory.
In the pursuit of a 126-run chase, Gardner and Litchfield forged a partnership to quick the side’s victory in the match. Ash Gardner’s side lost the wickets of openers to Renuka Singh in the early overs.
She dismissed Hemalatha for 11 runs in the last ball of the fifth over and went on to bag the wicket of Beth Mooney for 17 runs in the second ball of the 7th over. Harleen Deol came to bat after Hemalatha was sent back with 5 runs by Georgia Wareham.
However, Phoebe Litchfield joined Ash in the run chase to quick their run chase.

Batting first, RCB suffered a set back losing three wickets in the powerplay for 26 runs. They lost the wickets of Danni Wyatt, Ellyse Perry and Smriti Mandhana for 25 runs within the end of the power play.
Deandra Dottin bagged the wicket of Danni Wyatt on a lbw for four runs while Ashleigh Gardner dismissed Ellyse Perry on a duck. Meanwhile, Smriti Mandhana was sent out by Tanuja Kanwar for 10 runs.
However, they managed to get back with a partnership from Raghavi Bist and Kanika Ahuja for the fourth wicket.
Raghvi scored 22 runs off 19 deliveries before being dismissed on a run out. In the next over, Tanuja Kanwar bagged the wicket of Kanika Ahuja for 33 runs.
Georgia Wareham and Kim Garth’s contribution in the last overs has helped their side to cross 100+ runs.
Wareham scored 20* while Kim Garth scored 14 runs in their innings. Deandra Dottin and Tanuja Kanwar bagged two wickets each while Ash Gardner and Kashvee Gautam scalped a wicket each.
