The New Zealand opener Finn Allen will be missing the MLC 2025 playoffs and the upcoming Zimbabwe T20I Tri-series due to a Foot Injury.
Finn Allen sustained the injury while playing for San Francisco Unicorns during the USA T20 league and will be sent home to New Zealand for further assessment.
The recovery timeline will put in place for Allen upon further consultation in New Zealand, but the 26 year old not be available for the tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco Unicorns have opted not to name a replacement in their squad.
“Allen’s recovery timeline will be determined once he has returned to New Zealand and received further specialist consultations. A replacement player will be named in due course,” said a NZC statement.
Finn Allen and Romario Shepherd will miss the remainder of the competition due to injury and other franchise commitments respectively.

The New Zealand is yet to name a replacement for the opener. Finn Allen was the fifth leading run scorer in the MLC event prior to his injury and also slammed a solid 151 run for Unicorns in their opening match against Washington Freedom in Oakland.
The T20I Tri-series will begin on July 16 involving Zimbabwe and South Africa with white-ball stars Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, and Mitchell Santner will be returning to action after sitting out in the T20I series against Pakistan on home soil in March.
The Black caps are set to depart for Zimbabwe on Wednesday and is expected to land in Harare on Thursday, ahead of their opening T20I fixture against South Africa on 16 July.
