England has put up a mammoth total of 351 runs during the Champions Trophy 2025 match against Australia after Ben Duckett and Joe Root’s heroics in the match.
Ben Duckett scored 165 runs while Joe Root smashed 68 runs in their innings to put a score in the match. Meanwhile, the contributions from Jos Buttler, Archers, Jamie Smith, Phil Salt and Jamie Smith have put the side to put a huge total in the scoreboard.
Speaking of the match, winning the toss Australia opted to field first where Philip Salt and Ben Duckett opened the batting inning for England while Spencer Johnson opened the bowling attack.
Phil Salt made an aggressive start by hitting a boundary and a six off the final delivery of the first over. In the very next over, Ben Dwarshuis dismissed Phil Salt for 10 after Alex Carey pulled off a screamer in mid-on.
After losing an early wicket, England was expected to make a steady inning but Dwarshuis in the sixth over struck back and dismissed Jamie Smith was 15 runs. At the end of six overs, England scored 46 runs for 2 wickets loss.

After a couple of dismissals inside the first powerplay, Ben Duckett and Joe Root started to build a steady partnership which pushed England to score 73 runs for 2 wickets at the end of 10 overs.
Ben Duckett and Joe Root continued to add runs at a healthy run rate and pushed England’s score to 200 at the end of 30 overs. While the duo was seen cemented, Zampa dismissed Root for 68 in the final ball of the 31st over. Following Root’s dismissal, Duckett secures his maiden Champions Trophy century in 95 deliveries.
While Buttler was seen dangerous with his bat, Maxwell dismissed him for 23 in the final delivery of the 41st over. Duckett continued his momentum and went on to register the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history. At the end of 42 overs, England scored 285 runs for five wickets loss.
However the side went on to score runs as Ben Duckett smashed 165 runs and recorded for highest individual score in the Champions Trophy.
