    England bowled out for 304 in Cuttack ODI

    With Joe Root and Ben Duckett’s decent knock, England managed to score 304 runs after losing all their 10 wickets in the second ODI of the England tour of India 2025.

    The second ODI of the series was scheduled to be played on February 9 in Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. With Shubman Gill’s heroic 87, India won the first ODI at Nagpur and took a lead in the three-match ODI series.

    The visitors were under pressure to win this game in order to stay alive in the series. England made three changes in their playing 11 for the second ODI by including Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton in their lineup.

    Speaking of the match, England won the toss and opted to bat first where Philip Salt and Ben Duckett opened the inning while Shami opened the bowling attack.

    The duo made a steady start and scored 81 runs for the first wicket. Indian bowlers struggled to contain the England opening duo as the pair continued to strike aggressively inside the first powerplay.

    Debutant Varun Chakravarthy made the first breakthrough but dismissing Philip Salt for 26 runs. Following his wicket, Joe Root and Ben Duckett were expected to make a steady partnership but Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Ben Duckett for 65 runs.

    With decent contributions from the middle-order players, England managed to score 304 runs after losing all their 10 wickets with a ball remaining to bowl.

    Joe Root’s 69 remained as the team’s highest individual score. On behalf of India, Ravindra Jadeja scored three wickets while Shami, Harshit Rana, Hardik and Varun Chakravarthy each bagged a wicket.
