In July 2023, The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed the fixtures for the tour as a part of the 2024 season. With only less than two weeks available before the start of the schedule, England has announced the squad where Sophia Dunkley has earned a recall for the ODI series.

She was part of the ODI Squad which played in the Pakistan Women’s tour of England but didn’t play in the tour. Sophia Dunkley has played 32 ODIs and amassed 770 runs with a high score of 107 and a strike rate of 82.35.

Jon Lewis, the England Women’s head coach spoke about the squad named on Friday saying, “We have named the same squad who finished the recent series against Pakistan. I felt we played some solid 50-over cricket in that series and have had excellent results over the past 18 months.

“We welcomed Sophia Dunkley back into the squad at the end of the Pakistan series as her performance across the domestic game has been outstanding and she earned the right to be back in this squad through performance.”

Her recall was after her impressive performance for South East Stars in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy where she was the leading run scorer with 293 runs at 97.66 and a strike rate of 83.00.

Recently, The English women played a 5-match T20I and 3-match ODI series on the England women’s tour of New Zealand where they won both series 4-1 and 2-1 respectively.
