MS Dhoni Parents Admitted to Hospital

“Parents of cricketer MS Dhoni have been admitted here at the hospital after testing positive for #COVID19. Their oxygen level is stable: Pulse Superspeciality Hospital, Ranchi, Jharkhand,” wrote ANI in a tweet.

Dhoni returned to the 22 yards for the first time after IPL 2020 in the UAE. After the tournament, Dhoni spent time with his family and did not play any competitive cricket. He took to the field only in March when some of the players from the franchise assembled in Chennai for the pre-season training camp.

MS Dhoni is currently leading Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The side is playing its matches at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After the completion of their next two games, the side will move to Delhi for the next leg of the tournament.

CSK is currently third in the IPL 2021 points table after three matches. They have four points in the kitty after winning back-to-back matches against Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings. CSK’s next take on two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday.

In the previous year tournament, Dhoni had his worst-ever season as captain and player. His side could only manage a seventh-place finish and for the first time in IPL history, they failed to qualify for the playoffs.

With the bat, Dhoni was highly absent. In 14 matches, he only scored 200 runs and failed to register a single 50+ score.

In view of rising COVID-19 cases, the Jharkhand government on Tuesday announced a lockdown in the state from April 22 to April 29 with some exemptions. India on Wednesday reported a total of 2,95,041 fresh infections in a span of 24 hours, while the active cases crossed the 21-lakh mark.
