Devon Conway will be missing the third T20I against Australia, which will be played on Sunday due to his left thumb injury during the second T20I match.

He was struck by Adam Milne’s delivery in the match’s second over, who was bowling at 140Kph. He was forced to leave the ground and Finn Allen was given wicketkeeping duties.

He did not return to the ground to bat or bowl in the match. He underwent scans which ruled out the fracture. However, Conway will be returning home to Wellington to get a hand specialist’s opinion to know the extent of the injury.

Tim Seifert will be replacing Conway in the third T20I. Seifert who was ruled out for the series due to a torn-abdcutor has recovered and passed the fitness test in Hamilton.

New Zealand has also included Jacob Duffy as a cover for the bowling unit. On the other hand, Rachin Ravindra who was ruled out of the series due to his left knee injury, continues to be monitored.

According to New Zealand coach Gary Stead, Rachin Ravindra will be monitored over the next 24 hours, and his availability will be known just ahead of the third T20I.

On the other hand, David Warner who was benched during the second T20I due to adductor soreness was ruled out for the third T20I match. Steven Smith will be brought in as the replacement for the player.

Sealing the victory in the series 2-0, Australia will be facing New Zealand in the third and final T20I match of the series on February 25 at Eden Park.
