Gujarat was scheduled to play in the 10th match of the WPL 2025 season against Delhi Capitals where the former were set to bat. However, their aim for big scores has been shattered as they lost four wickets in powerplay for 31 runs.
Delhi Capitals bowlers Shikha Pandey and Marizanne Kapp picked two wickets each in the first 05 overs and troubled them as much as they could.
Shikha Pandey bagged the wickets of Harleen Doel (5) and Phoebe Litchfield (0) in the fourth over while Marizanne Kapp picked the wickets of Beth Mooney (10) and Kashvee Gautam (0) in the fifth over of the match.
Gujarat lost four wickets for 20 runs with Ashleigh Gardner and Deandra Dottin at the crease. Dottin and Ash tried to pull out a partnership to revive the side from early dismissals.
But Titas Sadhu bagged the wicket of Ash for 3 runs further haunting Gujarat Giants. Bharti Fulmali joined Deandra Dottin for balancing the side in the scoreboard, but Annabel Sutherland bagged the wicket of Deandra Dottin for 26 runs.
After Dottin’s dismissal, Simran Shaikh and Meghna Singh lost their wickets for 5 and 0 in the match. By the end of 20 over, Gujarat Giants scored 127 runs for 9 wickets.
