The persistent rain stopped the play during the Champions Trophy 2025 clash between Australia and Afghanistan played on February 28.
The rain started pouring after Australia played 12.5 overs of their innings. Aussies innings have been interrupted in the 273-run chase where Travis Head fires a quick fifty to give a solid start for the side.
Despite the dismissal of Matt Short for 20 runs, Head is aiming for a partnership with Steve Smith.
Steven Smith and Co won their first game of the tournament against England by 5 wickets while their second game against South Africa was abandoned due to rain.
On the other hand, Afghanistan who made their maiden Champions Trophy appearance in the 2025 edition lost their first game by 107 runs against South Africa and won their second game by 8 runs against England. The defeat pushed England out of the tournament.
