With the big tournament Asia Cup 2023 set to begin within 15 days, the clash between the arch-rivals was a highly anticipated one where a promo was released on August 15, stirring patriotic emotions among fans.

The IND-PAK clash in the Asia Cup 2023 has huge expectations among the fans and a promo was released exclusively by the official broadcaster for the highly anticipated match between the rivals in the tournament.

They have dropped a video that seems to be patriotic on India’s Independence Day. The two sides will lock each other in an encounter before meeting up in the ICC World Cup tournament 2023.

This promo shows the passion and intensity of the showdown between these rivals. The post was titled Great rivalries demand great resilience & IND v PAK is the #GreatestRivalry there ever could be.


The Asia Cup 2023 is hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, where 13 matches are scheduled. Out of 13, 4 matches will be played in Pakistan, while the remaining nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka.

The inaugural match of the Asia Cup will be played between Pakistan and Nepal which is set to begin on August 30, at Multan Cricket Stadium.

The Ind-Pak match is scheduled on September 2, which is the highly anticipated match and if they qualify for Super Fours, they will be clashing again on September 10.

India is one of the most successful teams in the history of the Asia Cup, with seven titles in their hand. The Defending Champions Sri Lanka have won six times, while Pakistan won the title two times.

Bangladesh have reached the finals in the tournament three times, waiting for their first title victory. Pakistan is placed alongside India and Nepal in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage. The Asia Cup will be played in the ODI format which acts as a warmup match before the ODI World Cup that begins on October 5 in India.

Rescheduled dates for IND-PAK clashBangladesh is slotted to play Afghanistan on September 3 in Lahore followed by Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium on September 5.

The schedule also confirms that where they finish in the first round, the rivals Pakistan and India will remain In A1 and A2 while Sri Lanka will be in B1 and Bangladesh B2.

Suppose, if Nepal and Afghanistan qualify for the Super Four stage, they will take the slot of the team knocked out. The only Super Fours match listed in the draft schedule will be played in Pakistan on September 6 between A1 and B2.

Pakistan Cricket Board have announced their squad for the Asia Cup 2023 on August 9, and India is yet to announce its squad for Asia Cup 2023.

The Asia Cup 2023 is the 16th edition of the tournament which will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup 2023 was originally planned to take place in 2021, but due to Covid Pandemic, the tournament was postponed.

Asia Cup will follow both T20I and limited-over formats which get alternated every 2 years. This Asia Cup edition will be following a 50-over format.
