The star batter Virat Kohli sustained a minor knee injury during practice in Dubai but received medical attention from the team’s physio staff ahead of the finals in the Champions Trophy 2025.
According to the media, Kohli was struck by a ball and hurt his ankle which forced him to stop practising. He was promptly treated by the Indian medical staff, who sprayed him and bandaged the affected region.
The reports suggested that Kohli felt light pain in the injury but remained on the ground and watched the rest of the training session, indicating that the injury may ot affect his chances of playing the summit clash.
Throughout the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025, the star batter has amssed 217 runs in four innings with a remarkable strike rate of 83.14 and an average of 72.33.

He smashed a century against Pakistan and a match winning 84 against New Australia. However, the Indian coaching staff has clarified that the injury was not serious and veteran batter is likely to be fit for the clash against New Zealand.
Virat Kohli is just behind Chris Gayle in the overall Champions Trophy standings with 746 runs to Gayle’s 791.
The 36-year old opener is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in ODI Cricket for his ability to chase totals.
The upcoming clash is likely as they were over 25 year ago, in this rematch of the 2000 final, which took place when the competition was called as the ICC knockouts. The encounter has all the makings of a classic, with an equal number of match winners and superstars.
India has remained unbeaten in the tournament so far, while New Zealand has lost only once, against India in the group stage.
The finals of the Champions Trophy will be played on March 09 at Dubai International Stadium.
