Former cricketer Basit Ali hopes India withdraws from the match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 to avoid humiliation like their recent loss to the Windies.
Ali has said that he would like it if India refused to play Pakistan in the continental tournament, like they did in the recent World Championship of Legends; otherwise, Pakistan are in for a massive humiliation, one like they suffered at the hands of the Windies on Tuesday.
Pakistan’s batting lineup failed with three top-order wickets failling inside the first three overs during the third ODI of the West Indies tour.
Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Rizwan fell for ducks, leaving the chase in ruins.
Pakistan’s innings folded inside 30 overs, with Jayden Seales wreaking havoc to claim 6/18 in under eight overs.

“I pray India refuse to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, just like how they did at the World Championships of Legends. Itni buri tarah maarenge na vo, ki aapki soch hai (They will beat us so badly you can’t even imagine),” said Basit Ali.
He also added that, in their current state, Pakistan would not even stand a chance against Afghanistan.
“If we lose to Afghanistan, no one would care much in this country. But everyone goes mad the moment you lose to India,” Basit said.
However, the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format, where the side has fared better.
Salman Ali Agha-led Pakistan secured a 2-1 win in the T20I series against Windies. With West Indies secured 1-1 level ahead of the final decider, West Indies secured a 202 run victory in the final ODI to claim 2-1 victory.
Jayden Seales claimed a 6/18 as the tourists were bundles out for only 92 in their 295 run chase. With the Asia Cup is set to begin next month, India and Pakistan will face each other on September 14.
The first match of the Asia Cup 2025 will be played on September 09 where Afghanistan and Hong Kong will play in the opener match at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
