Bangladesh secured a 5-wicket victory (DLS Method) against Australia in the 2nd ODI match of the series played on June 11 at Dhaka.
By this win, they sealed the series 2-0 with one game yet to be played. After an impressive bowling performance from Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Tanvir Islam, solid knocks from Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Towhid Hridoy have set up a five-wicket victory in the rain-affected game at Dhaka.
After choosing to bat first, Australia’s Matt Short and Cooper Connolly opened the innings while Taskin Ahmed opened the bowling attack.
Bangladesh had a dream start, picking the wicket of openers for ducks. Taskin Ahmed bagged the wicket of Short, while Mustafizur Rahman bagged the wicket of Cooper Connolly.
Short was dismissed on a swing in delivery from outside off as the ball stuck the stumps. Meanwhile, Connolly got dismissed on a catch by Litton Das behind the wickets.
However, Mustafizur Rahman bagged his second wicket, dismissing Matt Renshaw for a duck as Australia struggled with 0-3.
However, a decent knock from Josh Inglis stabilised the innings. In the meantime, Alex Carey lost his wicket to Mustafizur Rahman for 13 runs.

However, the duo’s 43-run partnership was broken before Tanvir Islam bagged the wicket of Josh Inglis for 34 runs. Soon, Tanvir Islam brought his second wicket, dismissing Cameron Green for 25 runs.
With Australia struggling against the Bangladesh attack, Marnus Labuschagne and Xavier Bartlett forged a 103-run partnership, which included fifties from the duo.
However, Taskin Ahmed bagged his second wicket, dismissing Xavier Bartlett for 52 runs. Ahmed bagged his third wicket, dismissing Adam Zampa for a duck as Australia lost 8 wickets for 184.
With Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan Ellis aiming to forge a partnership, the rain has interrupted the game.
