    Australia tops WTC Points table after 3-0 win against Pakistan

    Australia tops the WTC points table pushing India to the second after their epic win against Pakistan 3-0 in the home tour.

    Australia have reached the top of the World Test Championship 2023-25 after their eight-wicket win over Pakistan in Sydney. They have 56.25% points from eight Tests. Pakistan is now sixth with 36.66% points.

    The Men in Blues were on the top after their win in the second Test in India’s South Africa tour 2023-24. They stand second with 54.16% points from four test matches.

    Meanwhile, South Africa has moved to the third position alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh. All three teams have 50% points from their respective games.

    There were four teams in action in the Boxing Day and New Year’s Test- India, South Africa, Pakistan, and Australia.

    South Africa moved forward after defeating India in the first test by an innings and 32 runs where Dean Elgar had an impressive score of 185 runs at Centurion Park.

    However, India came back strongly as they won against South Africa in Cape Town.

    West Indies has points of 16.67%, England has points of 15% and Sri Lanka with 0% occupy the bottom three spots.

    Australia the current World Test champions will have a chance to further strengthen their position at the top after the completion of their test series against West Indies.

    On the other hand, India the runners of the previous WTC cycle has a five-test home series coming up against England that gets underway on January 25 in Hyderabad.

    England has two wins two losses and one drawn in the Ashes but have only nine points to show for it, as they docked a 19-point penalty for maintaining a slow over-rate.

    South Africa will play in the two-match Test series against New Zealand in February. New Zealand will be playing their first test match against South Africa starting on February 04 at Bay Oval.
