An impressive batting knock from Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem has helped UAe to post 42 42-run victory in the Asia Cup 2025 game against Oman.
Their knocks of 51 and 69 have helped the side to post their first win of the campaign.
After being put to bat first, Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Waseem opened the innings for the UAE innings while Shakeel Ahmed opened the bowling attack.
The duo went on to forge an 88-run partnership for the first wicket, where they went on to smash fifties each making a solid start for the side.
Jiten Ramanandi got the first breakthrough for the Oman, dismissing Sharafu for 51 runs.
With the dismissal of Asif Khan and Muhammad Zohaib for 2 and 21 runs, Mohammad Waseem and Rahul Chopra lost their wickets for 69 and 0 respectively.
With Harshit Kaushik’s 19* runs, United Arab Emirates scored 172 runs for 5 in their 20 over innings.

In the purusit of chasing 173 runs, Jatinder Singh and Aamir Kaleem opened the innings for Oman while Junaid Siddique opened the bowling attack.
Siddique picked the wickets of the openers for 20 and 2 respectively. Wasim Ali and Hammad Mirza’s dismissal has put Oman in tough spot as they lost four wickets within the powerplay.
Despite losing wickets, Oman went on to score 50 runs in the powerplay. Aryan Bisht and Vinayak Shukla showed some resistance scoring 24 and 20 runs.
With Jiten Ramanandi and Shakeel Ahmed’s 13 and 14 runs respectively, Oman scored only 130 runs losing all 10 wickets in the 19th over.
Junaid Siddique picked four wickets while, Muhammad Jawadullah and Haider Ali bagged two wickets and Rohid Khan completed with a wicket.
Alishan Sharafu was named as the player of the Match. UAE will play their next match against Pakistan on September 17 at Dubai International Stadium.
