After an impressive display from bowlers, Alex Hales and Keacy Carty have achieved an 8-wicket victory for Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL 2025 against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on August 28 in Trinidad.
With this win, Knight Riders clinched their third victory of the season and secured second spot in the CPL 2025 points table.
Batting first, R cornwall and Jewel Andrew opened the innings for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons while Mohammad Amir opened the bowling attack.
Amir picked the first two wickets of Falcons, Cornwall and Karima Gore for duck as Jewel Andrew and Gous went on to score 43 runs in the powerplay.
Akeal Hosein picked the wickets of Andries Gous and Shakib for 14 and 13 runs respectively. However Imad Wasim and Usama Mir contributed 37* and 34 runs to help the side to post a decent score.
Falcons went on to score 146 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 over innings. Mohammad Amir picked a three-fer while Akeal Hosein and Andre Russell picked two wickets each for Knight Riders.
In the pursuit of chasing 147 run target, Colin Munro and Alex Hales opened the innings while Jayden Seales opened the bowling attack.
Despite Munro’s dismissal for 9 runs by Shakib, Alex Hales and Keacy Carty went on to forge a 87-run partnership where the duo went on score fifties each.

Keacy Carty went on to score 60 runs off 45 deliveries which included 4 fours and 2 sixes before being dismissed by Jayden Seales.
Meanwhile Alex Hales went on to remain unbeaten 55 off 46 deliveries which included 6 fours. With Nicholas Pooran’s 23* runs, the side went on secure a 8-wicket victory in the 19th over of the game.
Mohammad Amir was named as the Player of the Match. Speaking on the post match conference, Amir said, The wicket was offering some help early on. When there is help I always try to swing the new ball. Everybody is doing it on social media so I thought I will also do it (referring to his aura farming kid celebration).
Trinbago Knight Riders will play their next game against Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 31 at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad.
