2026 IND vs AFG 2nd ODI Playing 11: Shubman Gill-led India will square off against Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan in the 2nd ODI match on June 17 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
India secured a 1-0 lead after a win in the rain-affected game played at Dharamsala and will be aiming for a win to seal the series.
With the dates for 2027 ODI World Cup have been unveiled, both sides will be aiming to strengthen the squad with suitable combinations ahead of the tournament.
Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bowl. Speaking at the toss, Hashmatullah Shahidi said, “We want to bowl first. Wicket looks fresh. I think it’ll be spinning in the first innings. In the last game, we played really well, we missed the partnerships. We had one partnership and then threw away our wickets. Hopefully we come back stronger. Our boys have a lot of passion of cricket.”

Speaking on today Afghanistan’s playing 11, Shahidi said, “We have three changes. Nabi is sick, Azmat got injured and Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi isn’t playing. Bilal, Darwish Rasooli and one more.”
Meanwhile, Indian captain Shubman Gill said, “We would have bowled first as well. It’s all about being in difficult situations and getting that experience.”
Speaking on today India’s playing 11, Gill said, “Three changes. Prince makes his debut. We’ve got Kuldeep and Jaiswal in.”
