India struggles to make run
After the loss in the first ODI,India’s fairly new opening pair Prithiv Shaw and Mayank Agarwal make their way to defeat a descent score of 273. Mayank Agarwal(3) struggles in batting and return to the pavilion without scoring much. Prithiv Shaw and Virat Kohli put their efforts to face the New Zealand bowlers where shaw(24) can’t able to withstand. India’s run machine Virat Kohli lost his wicket to Southee’s ball that breached Virat’s defence and hit the middle and leg stumps. In the position of 57 for 3 wickets ,chassing a score of 273 looks tremendous for India.
Shreyas Iyer who is good at playing cut shots, while clearing his front leg looking to cut a ball right off the top of middle stump where its not short enough and doesn’t have room. Shreyas Iyer return to pavilion with a half century. KL Rahul(4) who is in glorious form took the wrong ball to cut and get an inside edge back on to the stumps. Jadav(9) who looks capable enough to block the good ones but goes after the wrong ball and present a simple catch to Nicholls.
India seek’s hope from Jadeja
India lost its top 5 batsman without scoring a ton for the team. Now the all-rounder Jadeja who teams up with Saini plays the game in under-pressure to recover the team for losing. After hitting six over extra cover Saini’s fun comes to an end after the ball hits the top of the leg stumps. Saini’s 45 off 49 that includes 5×4 and 2×6 by the way this is Saini’s best score across formats. Inspite of Jadeja’s(55) effort,India lost the game by 22 runs as well as the series(0-2).
Player of the match:Kyle Jamieson
Batting :25 off 24
Bowling:42 for 2(10 over)
Jamieson Debute player just start his carrier with a player of the match in his home ground. He says that: Bit of a high at the moment. Still kind of sinking it. The game kind of ebbed and flowed. It was pretty simple: we were just trying to get it through 50 overs. Just trying and stick with Ross. Relief was the feeling to get the first wicket out of the way and not give too many runs. International cricket is quite high intensity, but it was pretty cool.
