Sunrisers Hyderabad who are well known for their aggressive attacking batting, registered their second-lowest powerplay in Hyderabad in nine innings since 2024 during the clash against Gujarat Titans on 6 April.
During the SRH vs GT match at Hyderabad, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to register only 45 runs after losing a couple of wickets in the first powerplay.
GT’s Mohammed Siraj played a vital role in dominating the SRH batters in the first powerplay. In the six overs powerplay, Siraj bowled three full overs and gave only 14 runs and also bagged two key wickets by dismissing Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma for 8 and 18 runs, respectively.
Speaking of the match, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first where Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the batting for SRH while Siraj opened for GT.
In the very first over, Siraj dismissed dangerous Travis Head for 8 runs and made an early breakthrough for GT.
Though Head dismissed cheaply, Abhishek Sharma started to strike hard with the bat but Siraj in the fourth delivery of the fifth over, dismissed Sharma for 18 runs.
At the end of six overs, SRH managed to score only 45 runs for two wickets. SRH’s 45 in the first powerplay becomes their second lowest powerplay in Hyderabad in nine innings since 2024.
