    Punjab Kings’ newly appointed captain Shreyas Iyer with his unbeaten 97 runs off 42 balls guides PBKS to score 243 runs in the first inning, while bowlers defended the target successfully.

    Notably, 232/5 runs is GT’s highest total while chasing and the second-highest total after the 233/3 they scored against MI at Ahmedabad in 2023.

    Speaking of the match, Guajart Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the inning, while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack.

    At the end of 15 overs, Punjab Kings scored 156 runs for four wickets loss. With Shreyas Iyer’s impressive 42 balls 97 runs PBKS scored 243 runs for five wickets at the end of 20 overs.

    On the other hand, Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill opened the innings for the Gujarat Titans, while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack for PBKS. The duo made an impressive start while PBKS struggled to make a breakthrough.

    Maxwell made the breakthrough by dismissing Gill for 33 runs while Gujarat Titans scored 61 runs for one wicket loss at the end of the first powerplay. Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler started to build a partnership and dragged Titans to score 138 runs for a wicket loss at the end of 12 overs.

    Arshdeep Singh in the 13th over, dismissed Sai Sudharsan for 74 runs and put an end to Sudharsan’s madness. Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford built a steady partnership and dragged Titans to a better position while chasing.

    But Marco Jansen in the final delivery of the 18th over, dismissed Buttler for 54 runs and broke the partnership. With 27 needed off the last over, Arshdeep Singh successfully defended the target and led Punjab to win the game by 11 runs.
