    AB de Villiers Ready to Help RCB With the Ball if Required

    Mr.360 Ab de Villiers shows interest in bowling for RCB if the need arises. Originally from South Africa Ab de Villiers has been a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2011.

    Virat Kohli led RCB is in focus to lift their maiden title in this year’s IPL scheduled to play in UAE. De Villiers has already told his captain Virat Kohli that he will be ready to even bowl if the need arises.

    The Proteas superstar has already kept wickets and batted at various positions for RCB in the past seasons.

    Kohli had said in a recent interview that RCB has the ‘most balanced squad since 2016’ which means de Villiers’s services with the ball might not be required but the former South Africa captain will keep himself ready if his captain wants.

    Ab de Villiers Shows Interest in Bowling

    The multi-talented de Villiers bowls right-arm medium pace and even has 2 wickets in Test cricket and 7 in one-day internationals.

    “I always joke with Virat. I told him two nights ago: ‘Listen, if you need me this year with the ball, I will be there.’ Look, I’ve never been a great bowler, but I love throwing it around and keeping things fresh and just having fun out there,” de Villiers told RCB TV.

    ABD Praises Josh Philippe

    Ab de Villiers also praises the young Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Joshua Philippe. He was picked up at his base price of Rs 20 lakh at the IPL 2020 auction in December last year.

    Philippe has played 32 T20 matches so far scoring 798 runs at an average of over 33 and a strike rate of over 138 with 7 half-centuries to his name. The 23-year-old right-hander Sydney Sixers opener was the 3rd-highest scorer in the Big Bash League last season with 487 runs from 16 matches.

    “We are going to have some world-beaters in this edition, we will have (Aaron) Finch, Moeen Ali, Adam Zampa and Josh Philippe. I am looking forward to connecting with Josh, I see a lot of similarities between the way he plays when I was younger.

    “I am excited about Josh, I watched him play for the Sydney Sixers, he takes the new ball on, he is a very talented player, I have heard (Adam) Gilchrist say really some good things about him,” ABD said.
