Prasidh Krishna Ruled Out Of IPL 2023 Owing To An Injury

Rajasthan Royals bowler Prasidh Krishna was ruled out of the upcoming IPL 2023 owing to an injury. Prasidh Krishna suffered a back injury last September that ruled him out of action for six months.

Prasidh Krishna was retained by the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2023 Auction. BCCI hosts IPL 2023 Auction for the teams to complete their squad for the season where England all-rounder Sam Curran becomes the Most Expensive Player in the auction after Punjab Kings signed for a whooping INR 18.50 crore.

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar praised Prasidh Krishna following his impressive ODI debut against England. On March 23, 2021 Prasidh Krishna made his ODI debut against England at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Prasidh Krishna played his last competitive match in August 2022 against Afghanistan and suffered the injury on the eve of India A’s three-match unofficial Test series against New Zealand A in September. Back then, all-rounder Shardul Thakur replaced him in the squad.

On Thursday, February 16, the 26-year-old right-arm pacer took to Twitter to state that he is on the path to recovery. Prasidh Krishna tweets “Gutted to be missing out on so much cricket. Be back soon!”.

In a conversation with PTI, a BCCI source spoke about Prasidh’s return to the sport under conditions of anonymity. “Prasidh has a stress fracture and in case of this particular form of injury, you cannot put a date on prospective comeback,” the BCCI source said.

Prasidh Krishna played 14 ODIs and bagged 25 wickets at an economy of 5.32. His best 4 wickets for 12 runs came out in the second ODI against West Indies played on February 2022.
