Having a strong opening line-up, they have to make some changes in the middle order and work in the bowling department during the auction ahead of next season.
However, they can afford to make some changes, and by releasing some players, they will be aiming to sign some young talents during the IPL 2026 auction.
With the deadline for submitting the retention players list ending by November 15, BCCI planned to hold the IPL 2026 mini auction on December 16, 2025. With the IPL 2026 schedule yet to be revealed, the tournament will likely follow the usual March-May Window.
According to IPL 2026 auction rules, there are no restrictions on the number of players who can be released or retained.
