    The first super over match of the IPL 2025 season is set to be played between Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals after DC successfully defended the 189 runs target.

    With nine runs required off the final over, Mitchell Starc successfully defended the target. With two required off the final over, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer managed to score just one run while Jurel lost his wicket via runout dismissal while attempting to run the winning run.

    Speaking of the match, the Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel opened the inning for DC while Jofra Archer opened the bowling attack.

    Abishek Porel made an impressive start by scoring 23 runs off the second over. But Jofra Archer in the third over dismissed McGurk for 9 runs and made the first breakthrough.
    In the very next over, Karun Nair lost his wicket in an unexpected runout dismissal.

    Following the wicket, KL Rahul and Abishek Porel started to build a partnership and dragged Delhi to score 86 runs for two wickets at the ned of 10 overs. Jofra Archer in the 13th over dismissed KL Rahul for 38 runs and made a massive breakthrough.

    In the very next over, Hasaranga dismissed Abishek Porel for 49 runs. With back-to-back wickets in the two consecutive overs, Delhi Capitals were expected to struggle scoring runs.

    But with Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs’ quickfire 34 runs each, Delhi Capitals managed to score 188 runs for five wickets at the end of 20 overs.

    While chasing, Jaiswal and Samson opened the innings for the Rajasthan Royals, while Mitchell Starc opened the bowling attack. The duo made an incredible start by scoring 63 runs without losing a wicket in the first powerplay.

    While things were seen favouring the Royals, Sanju Samson opted to retire hurt after scoring 31 runs. In the first delivery of the ninth over, Axar dismissed Parag for 8 runs and made the first breakthrough.

    At the end of 10 overs, RR scored 94 runs for a wicket loss. Rana and Jaiswal continued to dominate the bowlers but Kuldeep Yadav in the 14th over dismissed Jaiswal for 51 runs and broke the well-settled partnership.

    With Rana’s half century, RR managed to score 158 runs for 2 wickets at the end of 17 overs. In the 18th over, Mitchell Starc dismissed Rana for 51 runs and made a massive breakthrough.

    Hetmyer and Jurel scored 14 runs off the 19th over and pushed RR’s score to 180 at the end of 19 overs. With nine needed of the final over, Starc successfully defended the total. With just two required off the final delivery, Dhruv Jurel and Hetmyer managed to run only one run while Jurel lost his wicket while attempting for the winning run.
