Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad has said that the 3-time champions, who could not qualify for the play-offs last season, are more determined, fearless and aggressive this year in IPL 2021.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was himself out-of-form in the first three matches, makes his way back with back-to-back impressive knocks. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 192 runs from 6 matches played so far in IPL 2021.

“Mentally we have come off really well this season. We are determined, more aggressive, and fearless this year and we want to make each and every game count, you can see this from our (CSK) performance as well,” Ruturaj told teammate Faf du Plessis in a video posted on the IPL website.

Further, the right-hander also talked about his batting and stated that “timing the ball really well’ is something he has been doing since his childhood days. The Maharashtra batsman is aiming to increase his strength now. Gaikwad also praised his opening partner and former South Africa captain Faf du Plessis.

“I think, I have been timing the ball really well since a very young age and thankfully I have maintained it till now. I would like to increase my strength as well but it was all about from young age, batting practice and working on timing and then it came naturally to me,” said Ruturaj.

“I think we have a really good understanding between each other. We quickly come up to each other and share our thoughts and I think that’s a plus point, to have such an experience and amazing player (Faf) at the nonstrikers’ end,” said Ruturaj.

With CSK’s aggressive batting and bowling form MS Dhoni led Chennai franchises holds the top position in the IPL 2021 points table.

Chennai Super Kings(CSK) will face Mumbai Indians(MI) for their next league match on May 1, 2021 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
