Jasprit Bumrah will miss at least the first three matches of the IPL 2025 season as he recovers from a back injury he developed during India’s tour of Australia.
The pacer has been out of action since suffering the setback during the final test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy and missed the home tour against England and the Champions Trophy in Dubai.
It is anticipated that the 31-year-old pacer will join Mumbai Indians camp in the first week of April, after getting clearance from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI) medical team.
All parties, including Mumbai Indians and Indian Board, are keen to avoid rushing him back into competitive action, instead ensuring he has ample time to fully recover.
Jasprit Bumrah has been training at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru in a bid to regain full fitness.

Mumbai Indians begin their IPL 2025 campaign on March 23 against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. They will be heading to Ahmedabad to face Gujarat Giants on March 29 before facing Mumbai on home against defending Champions Trophy Kolkata Riders on March 31.
Bumrah was initially named in India’s Champions Trophy squad, but the BCCI selection committee and team management opted against rushing him back into the setup. The Indian Board replaced Bumrah with Varun Chakravarthy in their final 15-member squad, which went on to the coveted title in Dubai.
Previously he has been hastily reintegrating him after of the T20 World Cup in 2022 which further resulted him 10 month sideline.
