The former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has provided a warning to Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal after a poor start in the ongoing IPL 2025 season.
After securing two impressive victories, they suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the Gujarat Titans in their latest outing. Their batting woes have grabbed the spotlight in almost every match.
Amid the struggle, Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s failure at top order centre stage. Even in the last match, he departed early. After several poor performances, Basit Ali didn’t hold back, taking a sharp jab at the youngster.
Rajasthan Royals are struggling with their form, and Jasiwal’s ongoing form is adding more woes to the side. In 5 matches, he has scored only 107 runs with an average of 21.4 with only one fifty.
Basit Ali cited Prithvi Shaw a cautionary tale, he issued a warning to the youngster. “His stomach has filled. Jaiswal isn’t focusing on cricket. This is my open message.”
“Don’t make this mistake, cricket can make you cry a lot. Look at Prithvi Shaw. Love cricket and bring that passion back, it is nowhere to be seen now. You are playing zero this year when compared to last.” Ali said.
With Jaiswal searches for form, India’s bench strength is flourishing. Punjab Kings’ Priyansh Arya stunned Chennai Super Kings with a record-breaking 39-ball century, showcasing the kind of fearless cricket India’s new generation is embracing.
On the other hand, Sai Sudharsan made 82 runs off 53 deliveries against Rajasthan Royals showed his consistency, taking him to second in the Orange Cap race with 273 runs from five games.
“When I first saw Sai Sudharsan, I thought he was 27 or 28 years old. But, I saw one of his interviews recently, and found out he is only 23 or 24. There is cricket in his face and eyes, you can see that he loves the game very much. His goal is to be at the top,” he said.
Rajasthan has secured two out of three wins they played so far, the team is standing in the seventh position of the IPL 2025 points table.
Rajasthan Royals will play their next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 13 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
