Lucknow Super Giants batter Aiden Markram has revealed Digvesh Rathi’s biggest weapon for success in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025).
Currently, Rathi is the second-highest wicket-taker of the season so far in his team with seven wickets to his name. The 25-year-old is making headlines with his marvellous performances in his debut season, being the second-highest wicket-taker for his team so far.
Recently, he was impressed with his crucial spell against KKR picking the wicket of his idol Sunil Narine registering the figures of 1/33 in the high-scoring affair.
Following the remarkable show with the ball, Markam asked what makes the young spinner different from others.
He praised the youngster for his ability to turn the ball both ways but also mentioned that it’s his control on line and length which has allowed him to get tremendous success.
“Yeah, he’s different. Obviously he can take the ball both ways with a little bit of mystery about it as well. So that’s a big advantage for him, but like I said now, it all comes down to execution and he’s the one who’s holding really good lengths for us and, and enabling us to build a little bit of pressure,” said Markram in the post-match press conference.

“So I think that’s probably been his biggest strength is his control. Being able to go both ways is obviously a massive strength, but with a slightly smaller boundaries and the ball traveling, if you’re missing lengths, ultimately you’re gonna fetch.”
“So that’s probably been his biggest weapon so far this IPL is he’s he’s been really good at holding a good length,” he added.
Apart from his impressive performances, he also made headlines after being fined twice by the BCCI for coming up with notebook celebration.
Digvesh Singh Rathi made a notebook celebration after dismissing Priyansh Arya was fined 25 per cent of his match fees and received one demerit point for violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
He made a similar celebration during Naman Dhir’s dismissal in the game against Mumbai Indians and was slapped with a 50% fine on his match fees.
However, he made up making a new celebration against KKR after dismissing Narine during the match against KKR.
Digvesh Rathi has seven wickets in five games at an average of 22.14 and an economy of 7.75. He will be eager to continue his good form as Lucknow move ahead in the tournament.
