The SRH openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have fallen short after a quick start in the IPL 2025 game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on May 23 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

After a solid start of 54 for the first wicket, they went on to lose two quick wickets of the openers in the powerplay.

Batting first, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings while Yash Dayal opened the bowling attack.

Going on a rampage mode, Abhishek Sharma went on to score 34 runs off 17 deliveries, which included 3 fours and 3 sixes. Meanwhile, Travis Head went on to score 17 off 10 deliveries, which included 3 fours.

With Lungi Ngidi picking the wicket of Abhishek in the fourth over, Bhuvneshwar bagged the wicket of Travis Head in the fifth over.

With Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen at crease, Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to score 71 runs in the powerplay.

Speaking at the toss, Jitesh Sharma said, “It’s my first time captaining RCB. I captained PBKS against SRH last year. We are thinking to bowl first, want to take most of the surface from the moisture.”

“We are looking forward to finish the league on top of the table and enter the playoffs. The management has taken care of the players. We have a good atmosphere and culture. We want to win every game and win the cup. Rajat Patidar is the impact player. Mayank comes in for Padikkal,” concluded Jitesh Sharma.

On the other hand, SRH captain Pat Cummins said, “We have shown some good signs in the last few games. We are building our team for the next season. We need to play more consistently. We need to be at our best.”

“Last game we chased down 200 comfortably. I have been bowling with Shami and preparing for upcoming Test cricket. We would have bowled, not sure how it will play. We have three changes. Travis Head is back, Abhinav Manohar and Unadkat are back as well,” concluded Jitesh Sharma.
