Lucknow Super Giants is one of the two new IPL teams that made their debut in the Indian Premier League 2022 season. Founded in 2021, the team plays its home matches at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Unlike their co-debutant Gujarat Titans, LSG hasn’t won any IPL trophies so far. Notably, the team is owned by RPSG Group, who previously owned the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise between 2016 and 2017.
Lucknow Super Giants who made their debut in IPL 2022 season qualified for the playoffs in their first two seasons and failed to qualify for the same in their last season(IPL 2024).
In IPL 2024, under KL Rahul’s captaincy, Lucknow Super Giants finished 7th in the points table and failed to advance to the playoffs round.
As per LSG Schedule 2025, Lucknow Super Giants will play their first match against Delhi Capitals on 24 March in ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

IPL 2025 LSG Head Coach
Former Australian cricketer and cricket coach Justin Langer is the current head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants(LSG). The former Australian opening batter joined the Lucknow-based franchise in July 2023 and continues to be the head coach of the LSG to date.
Following his retirement in 2009, Langer was appointed as the Australian national cricket team’s batting coach and senior assistant coach from November 2009 until November 2012, when he was appointed senior coach of the Perth Scorchers and Western Australia.
Langer was appointed as the coach of the Australian national cricket team on 3 May 2018 and continued his role till 2022. On 4 February 2022, Justin Langer announced his resignation as head coach of the Australia men’s team. His contract was set to expire in June 2022, and he turned down a short-term extension.
Justin Langer played 105 Tests and 8 ODIs between 1993 and 2017 for Australia and scored 7696 and 160 runs respectively.

IPL 2025 LSG Bowling Coach
Pravin Tambe who made his IPL debut at the age of 41 will be the Spin bowling consultant for the Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2025 season.
Apart from Tambe, Lucknow Super Giants also have a legendary cricketer in their support staff unit. Ahead of the IPL 2025 season, LSG roped in former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan as their mentor.
According to an earlier report, former Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan is expected to assist the LSG’s bowlers while mentoring the team.

IPL 2025 LSG Fileding Coach
Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is the fielding coach of the Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2025 season. Rhodes joined the LSG coaching set-up ahead of the start of the IPL 2023 season.
Jonty Rhodes is well known for his aggressive fielding during his time. Rodes played 52 tests and 245 ODIs for South Africa between 1992 and 2003 and scored 2532 and 5935 runs respectively.
