BCCI announces India A squad for multi-day Games against England Lions

BCCI has added Rinku Singh and Tilak Varma to the India A Squad for the second and third Tests against England Lions.

Tilak Varma will be available for both matches while Rinku Singh will be available only for the final one. Both players were part of the T20I squad which played in Afghanistan’s India tour.

Rinku Singh showed an impressive performance as he scored 69 not out in the final T20I against Afghanistan in Bengaluru. Tilak Varma played the first match against Afghanistan but was sidelined in the match after the arrival of Virat Kohli in the team line-up.

Apart from Rinku and Tilka, Washington Sundar and Arshdeep Singh also make their way to the Test squad to play in unofficial Tests against England Lions. Abhimanyu Easwaran will be the captain for the tests.

Rinku Singh was recently part of the Test squad in South Africa as a reserve Player. He had played 43 FC matches, scoring 3099 runs with an average of 58.97.

He was only selected for the last multi-day Game, but his teammate Yash Dayal found a place in the squad for both the remaining games against the England Lions.

Jharkhand Wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra was included in the squad and Upendra Yadav was added as the spare wicket-keeper.

The pair replaced KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel will join the senior side for the first two Test matches against England. Abhimanyu Easwaran was the reserve opener in South Africa but missed the Tests against England, will continue to captain the India A side.

Manav Suthar and Pulkit Narang are currently playing the first multi-day game against the England Lions. Washington Sundar was also included in the India A squad for both games.

Shams Mulani will replace Saurabh for the final game. His Mumbai teammate Tushar Deshpande found a place in the squad for both matches.
