BBL 2023 Semi Final Qualified Teams: Post the 56 league matches, 4 matches will be played prior to the final match. The final match of the tournament will be played at the home ground of the highest-ranked team.

BBL 2023 Semi Final Qualified Teams: Following the league matches, the top 5 teams of the BBL 2022-23 points table will play Eliminator, Qualifier, Knockout, and Challenger. The final match will be played between the winner of the qualifier and the winner of the challenger.

As per BBL 2022-23 Schedule, the first match is set to kick start on December 13, 2022. Following are the details of the BBL 2023 Qualified Teams For Playoffs/BBL 2023 Semi Final Qualified Teams:

  • The Knock-Out – Melbourne Renegades vs Brisbane Heat – Heat won by 7 wkts
  • The Challenger – Sydney Sixers vs Brisbane Heat – Heat won by 4 wkts
  • The Final – Perth Scorchers vs Brisbane Heat – Scorchers won by 5 wkts

BBL Format

The BBL playoffs will be similar to the grand Indian Premier League, with a little addition. The tournament allows the fifth team on the Big Bash League standings to participate in the knockout stages as well.

The Eliminator will see the fourth and fifth-placed teams fight it out. There will be two Qualifiers which will see the first two teams try to get to the final quickly.

The second one will see the third-placed team play the winner of the Eliminator. It will be followed by the ‘Challenger’ which will see the loser of the Qualifier play against the winner of the second Qualifier to find a place in the Final.

Therefore, the primary aim of all teams will be to find a place in the top 5 of the Big Bash points table and get a place in the playoffs.

  • The Qualifier (Second Semi-Final)- First v Second
  • The Knock-Out (First Semi-Final)- Third v Winner of The Eliminator
